ROOMS AVAILABLE TO HIRE

The St James Church Centre and St James on the Grange have a number of rooms available for hire. Our facilities also have dedicated car parking and outside grassed area that can be used alongside your booking. Please see details and photos of the rooms we have available below.

Rooms are available and charged for hire by the hour.

If you are interested in a regular booking, we have a discounted price list, please contact us for more details and to request an enquiry form. All bookings are subject to availability and checks with the bookings clerk.

Main Hall

Facilities: The Hall is equipped with audio-visual facilities for regular bookings. Integrated, office controlled heating & air conditioned system & hooks provided for banners/balloons.

Frequently used for: Parties, public meetings, weddings, wakes, classes & concerts.

Charge: Together with the use of our Coffee Lounge & Kitchen | £30.00 per hour.

Capacity: 87 People.

Meeting Room

Facilities: The Meeting Room is perfect for small Groups/ Parties. Has a Manually controlled heating system. It is along the corridor from the Main Hall & Coffee Lounge. This works perfectly for business & confidential meetings.

Frequently used for: Parties, public meetings, classes & crafting groups.

Charge: £15.00 per hour. (No access to the kitchen, unless there are no other bookings)

Capacity: 17 Seated, 20 standing

Coffee Lounge

Facilities: The Coffee Lounge has direct access to the kitchen and can be used for small Groups or Parties. This has a Manually controlled heating system.

Frequently used for: Parties, public meetings, weddings, wakes, classes & concerts.

Charge: £15.00 per hour - (No access to the kitchen, unless there are no other bookings)

Capacity: 17 Seated 20 Standing

Kitchen

Facilities: The kitchen is equipped with all appliances you may need for an event.
Equipped with an oven, large fridge & washing facilities. Must be hired if providing food/drink to guests.

Frequently used for: Parties, public meetings, weddings, concerts & Groups to cook/prepare drinks & food for an event.

Charge: Together with the use of our Coffee Lounge/Hall | Package deal price (see Main Hall). For food & drink preparation.

Note: When checking availability please inform us: what your booking is for, how many attendees (inc Adullts & Children), the times of booking (inc set up/clear away) & if your booking is a one off or regular booking.

Step 2

Our Church office will then email you the documents you need to complete your booking

We will send to you:
  • An Occasional Booking Form or Regular Booking Enquiry Form
  • Facilities User Policy

Step 3

Pay the deposit & await confirmation of your booking

The initial email from our Church Office will provide you with the details of the deposit you need to pay & how.

OUR HISTORY

St James has a rich and strong history in the community of Styvechale, we are blessed to have 2 buildings we are able to hire out to Regular & Occasional bookings, one at Knoll Drive and the other at the Grange.

We are proud of the heritage and history St James has. In 1939 the diocese built the Church Hall adjacent to the church. The Grange was built in 1972. In 1975 the Knoll Drive Hall was extended to give similar accommodation to the Grange.

Some of our buildings and grounds have existed for many years, there are references to our Churchyard for e.g. in an early agreement of 1595. There is also a list of clergy who have served in St James and the wider community dating back to 1275. The lease however to the main Church building dates back to 1661.

As we look back through our history 3 things are clear:

  • We have always been here to serve & help.

  • We understand the importance of your event/booking and “We have the space for you to create lasting memories”, just like our Church’s History.
